My approach

How often when you talk to your friends about your feelings and problems they give you their opinions and advice and then when you do not take it they get hurt or tell you "We told you so!"

What I offer is a safe and relaxed opportunity for you to explore and examine how you truly feel, in an ambience completely free of prior expectations or judgmental attitudes. My role is to facilitate and to act as a mirror that will reflect back to you the meaning and personal significance of what is being expressed. I will not judge you or interpret what you say from a fixed and rigid point of view or any learned set of rules. Instead of making assumptions or "dumping my stuff on you", I will often use my own life's insights as a channel through which we can work together to clarify and understand the truth of what you are feeling.

For many years I worked at the Royal Opera House, managing a staff of 100 during a turbulent period of change in this famous and high profile institution. Through guiding people through the process of re-adjustment, redundancy and the challenge of building new careers and facing fresh horizons, I was given the opportunity to have a good look at where I was in my own life and to make new choices and plans.

I have had my first child at 40, while working full-time. Although I have never been married, I have steered clear in the past of becoming involved in difficult and disappointing relationships and now live happily with my long-term partner.

I have come through it all successfully, and with good humour. I hope I can help you do the same.
